Introduction
As an Emergency Communications Specialist for the City of Grapevine, I served as a vital link between the community and its first responders—coordinating emergency communications with precision, composure, and care. Every call represented a unique responsibility: assessing complex, often high-pressure situations in real time, providing critical instructions to callers, and ensuring the rapid, accurate dispatch of Police, Fire, and EMS units.

Key Responsibilities
Received and prioritized incoming 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls, determining urgency and appropriate response pathways.
Provided clear, compassionate, and actionable instructions to callers during medical, fire, and law enforcement emergencies.
Dispatched Police, Fire, EMS, Animal Control, and other City departments using multi-channel communication systems.
Operated multiple radio frequencies and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems in both routine and high-stress conditions.
Accessed and updated data in the Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and regional databases.
Monitored security alarms and coordinated immediate response from appropriate City personnel.
Documented all communications and activities in compliance with departmental and legal standards.
Collaborated with field responders and supervisors to ensure accurate information flow and safe, efficient incident resolution.
